On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in celebration of Book Week in Iran, Saba Agency, in collaboration with the Tehran Publishing Fellowship Program Office, hosted a workshop on Right Catalogs: Content and Usage. This session was the first part of a two-part series titled “Right Catalog Creation Using AI”, designed to help publishers and agents create effective, brand-consistent catalogs.
It’s important to note that Saba Agency led the foundational session, focusing on the principles and structure of a Right Catalog. The AI-assisted part of the workshop was presented separately by another expert in the field.
The audience included publishers, literary agents, and members of the Board of the Iran Association of Children and Youth Book Publishers (CACBP).
Before introducing AI tools, the session focused on equipping participants with essential knowledge:
- What is a Right Catalog? Understanding its purpose and value in representing a publisher’s list.
- Types of Right Catalogs: Exploring catalogs used in trade fairs, sales pitches, and marketing.
- Content and Structure: Key components and organization for clarity and appeal.
- Brand Consistency: How a catalog can reflect a publisher’s identity and maintain a cohesive look across publications.
Saba Agency showcased examples from different publishing sectors to illustrate best practices:
- Children and Young Adult: Illustrations, age categories, and storytelling styles.
- Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction: Genre, author profiles, and thematic organization.
- Academic Books: Research focus, references, and structured presentation.
This approach helped participants see how catalogs differ depending on their audience, while maintaining consistency and professional standards.
