As we step into the new year, we would like to reflect on our achievements during our first year of operation. We announced our official launch at the Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) 2024 and welcomed international guests to the event. We made our mark on the global stage at the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) 2024 and continued to expand our network by building new partnerships at the Sharjah Publishers Conference 2024. We also gained the trust of the Association of Children’s and Young Adult Book Publishers (CACBP), connecting us with approximately 90 privately held publishing houses across the country.
The journey has not been easy. Amid regional turmoil and financial fluctuations, we have experienced both joyful and challenging moments. However, forging new friendships and partnerships, as well as expanding our network both nationally and internationally, has kept us motivated. We deeply appreciate the trust that our publishers and creators (authors and illustrators) have placed in us, which makes all our efforts worthwhile.
Our name, “Saba,” means a gentle breeze that originates from the northeast and blows in the morning. This wind has significant cultural, mythological, poetic, and literary symbolism. In Persian literature, the Saba wind represents a time of blossoming and rejuvenation in nature. In this new year, we invite you to embrace this wind, as lovers have in the past, to discover stories from Persian literature.
