A workshop on Introduction to the Global Market for Children’s Books, in collaboration with Iran’s Cultural Association of Children and Youth Book Publishers (CACBP), is scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2024.
The workshop aims to educate Iranian children’s book publishers about the global market for children’s books, including its requirements and trends. In an interview with IBNA (Iran Book News Agency), Maryam Ronagh, the Managing Director of Saba Agency, emphasized the importance of these workshops, stating, “This workshop will familiarize our children’s book publishers with different markets and enable them to evaluate their publications according to various market requirements. This self-evaluation will equip our publishers to better present their publications to literary agents and produce books tailored to specific markets if desired.”
The workshop consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical panels will focus on the Arab World, China, and the Iran Grant Program. During the practical section, invited publishers will review their publications and assess which titles can be introduced to the Arab market or China.
